Dr. Adel Abdelghaffar, the Ministry’s Media Advisor and Official Spokesperson, affirmed the Ministry’s continued efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian universities and consolidate Egypt’s position as a distinguished regional center for higher education and scientific research. This is being achieved through the development of the scientific research system, increasing cooperation with researchers from various countries, and focusing on the quality of joint research that receives high rates of scientific citations, thereby enhancing the chances of publication in high-impact scientific journals.

The Official Spokesperson pointed to the outstanding efforts made by Egyptian universities in pursuit of academic and research excellence, which is reflected in their continuous progress in various prestigious international rankings.

He added that the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects is one of the most prominent global rankings measuring university performance across different disciplines, relying primarily on objective data. The ranking is based on nine indicators distributed across five main categories, including: the level of faculty members, high-level research output, publication quality, research impact, and international cooperation. It relies on global databases and requires a minimum number of publications for any university to be included in each discipline.

The Official Spokesperson praised the role of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank in providing vast scientific resources to Egyptian researchers and scientists, which has contributed to enhancing scientific research in Egypt, enabling research institutions to gain global recognition, and elevating the international rankings of universities, institutions, and research centers. This is in addition to the efforts made by the ranking committee teams at Egyptian universities in tracking the various criteria of international rankings.
