500 kg of fish and 25 kg of foodstuffs destroyed in Al-Ahmadi

The Al-Ahmad Governorate Inspection Department carried out an inspection campaign in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior. The campaign resulted in the destruction of 500 kilograms of assorted non-compliant fish, the issuance of a violation report for failure to adhere to health requirements, and the taking of necessary legal action against the violators.

The department also conducted an inspection campaign as part of its routine monitoring of food establishments. This campaign led to the issuance of six violation reports covering various infractions, including operating a facility with an expired health license, displaying food items outside the establishment, using additional space beyond the licensed area, failing to comply with general health requirements, and offering, displaying, and selling food items that do not meet specifications. Additionally, a violation related to the approved informational label data issued by the Authority was recorded.

Furthermore, 25 kilograms of non-compliant food items were destroyed, and the necessary legal action was taken against the violators.

In another development, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition announced the imminent launch of the national voluntary initiative “With Calories… Your Menu Is Clearer, and Trust Is Greater.” The initiative targets food establishment owners in Kuwait and is part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance nutritional awareness and reinforce practices that support public health.

The initiative aims to encourage food establishments to clearly display calorie information on their menus, thereby enabling consumers to make more informed dietary choices and strengthening transparency and trust between food establishments and their customers.
