Our national handball team will kick off its campaign in the 20th Asian Games, held in Nagoya, Japan, tomorrow with a match against Iran at 6:30 a.m. local time. This encounter is part of the first round of Group Two, which includes, alongside the Blue Team, Bahrain, Iran, Kazakhstan, and South Korea.

The national team’s preparations have followed the roadmap outlined by the administrative and technical staff. The administrative side is led by National Teams Manager Faisal Swayan and Team Manager Fahad Rabee, while the technical side is headed by Icelandic coach Aron Kristansson, in collaboration with the Handball Federation’s board of directors. The team first held a local training camp before traveling to Slovenia and Croatia for an overseas camp, during which they played several preparatory matches against high-level opponents.

The technical staff expressed satisfaction with the players’ performance in the preparatory matches and daily training sessions, noting the players’ seriousness and commitment to implementing the coach’s instructions. The Blue Team is aiming for a positive result against one of the strong contenders competing for the two qualification spots from this challenging group.
