"Education": Completion of sorting and approval of students accepted into gifted schools for the 2026/2027 academic year

As part of efforts to enhance the care of gifted students and provide a specialized educational environment that contributes to developing their abilities and skills, the Ministry of Education announced the completion of procedures for sorting and approving the students admitted to the schools for the gifted for the 2026/2027 academic year. This follows the completion of giftedness identification tests and the application of defined admission criteria, with results approved based on students' scores and available seats.
The Ministry of Education confirmed that the giftedness identification tests were administered to 1,070 male and female middle school students from various educational regions. The tests utilized standardized and accredited tools to measure general intellectual ability, academic achievement, and creativity, in addition to personal interviews, in accordance with clear scientific and international standards and the approved procedures for admission to schools for the gifted.
The Ministry stated that the schools for the gifted provide a specialized educational environment that addresses students' needs and capabilities. The approved regulations for the schools for the gifted system set the maximum number of learners in a classroom at 16 students, allowing for a higher level of interaction and individual follow-up, and contributing to the development of their abilities and skills while providing an educational experience suited to the nature of giftedness care programs.
The Ministry clarified that each student's result is available to their parent or guardian via the "Mawahib" platform on the Ministry of Education's website, through the unified login system. Parents and guardians are encouraged to access the platform and review their children's results.
It was explained that the parent or guardian of an admitted student must register their intent to complete the transfer procedures via the "Mawahib" platform, ensuring that address and phone number details are updated, in preparation for completing the remaining required procedures within the specified deadlines.
The Ministry of Education confirmed that the process of transferring the files of admitted students to the schools for the gifted will begin on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Parents and guardians are urged to complete the required procedures via the "Mawahib" platform within the specified deadlines.
The Ministry noted that these measures are part of its commitment to continue developing the system for caring for gifted students and providing a specialized educational environment based on clear scientific foundations and standards, thereby enhancing the discovery of their abilities, the development of their skills, and the utilization of these talents in their educational journey.
