Bahrain condemns the terrorist Houthi militia's attack on Taif and affirms that Saudi Arabia's security is an integral part of its own security

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the continued terrorist attacks carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These attacks targeted the Taif Governorate with a drone; after the drone was intercepted and destroyed, the resulting debris caused the death of a resident, injuries to a citizen and another resident, and material damage to several buildings and vehicles. The ministry characterized these acts as a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and the relevant Security Council resolutions.

In an official statement, the ministry affirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect its citizens and residents, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. It emphasized that the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are an integral part of the national security of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The ministry extended its sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family and relatives of the deceased Yemeni national resident, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The Bahraini “Foreign Ministry” reiterated its call on the United Nations Security Council to assume its responsibilities and take a firm stance to halt the repeated terrorist Houthi attacks targeting civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to hold the perpetrators accountable, and to implement its relevant resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216, and the provisions of Resolution 2817 calling for the cessation of the use of proxies, thereby contributing to the preservation of regional and international security and stability.
