ISESCO condemns attempt to target Makkah Al-Mukarramah with a drone launched by the Houthi militia

The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) condemned in the strongest terms, on Thursday, the attempt to target Makkah Al-Mukarramah with a drone launched by the Houthi militia, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a blatant disregard for the sanctity of the holiest sites for Muslims around the world.

In a statement, ISESCO Director General Salem Al-Malik said that targeting the Holy Capital and endangering its residents and visitors constitutes “an abhorrent crime and a sinful aggression that demands international action to halt such attacks and hold the perpetrators accountable.”

Al-Malik reaffirmed ISESCO’s steadfast position of full support for Saudi Arabia in the measures and steps it takes to safeguard the security of the Two Holy Mosques and protect the safety of their pilgrims, as well as citizens and residents within its territory.

Earlier, the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition announced that the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted and destroyed a hostile drone launched by the Houthi militia last Tuesday, which had attempted to enter the airspace of Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
