King of Jordan affirms support for Lebanon's negotiations with Israel to the President; Aoun thanks his efforts to convene the Paris Conference to support the army and security forces

Upon his arrival in the French capital, Paris, President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, visited King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan at his residence at the Four Seasons George V Hotel. During the meeting, President Aoun condemned the recent attacks targeting Jordan and thanked the King for Jordan’s support of the Lebanese Army, as well as its efforts to convene an international conference to support the Army, the Internal Security Forces, and the land bridge for aid that Jordan provided to Lebanon following the Israeli attacks. The discussions also covered bilateral relations between the two countries, following the signing of 21 agreements and memoranda of understanding after the meeting of the Joint High Committee in January last year, with a call to work on implementing their contents. For his part, the King of Jordan affirmed Jordan’s continued support for Lebanon, condemned the Israeli attacks on its territory, and expressed support for Lebanese positions aimed at achieving security and stability in Lebanon, particularly the ongoing negotiations to end the state of war with Israel. President Aoun and King Abdullah agreed to maintain communication to coordinate positions between the two countries.
