Donigian prepares the Olympic Blue Team for the match against Uzbekistan

Spain’s David Doniga, coach of the national under-23 football team, has been reviewing the 1-1 draw with Vietnam in the first round of Group C at the 20th Asian Games “Aichi-Nagoya 2026,” currently being held in Japan.

Coach Doniga analyzed the positives and negatives of the match for the players, who delivered a strong performance for most of the game and came close to securing a victory against Vietnam, ranked third in Asia in this age group.

Doniga is working to reduce the physical load on the players during yesterday’s and today’s training sessions, the latter being the final part of his preparations ahead of the match against Uzbekistan at 1:00 p.m. Kuwait time tomorrow, Friday, in the second round of the tournament.

Uzbekistan defeated the Philippines 5-1 in the first round.
