The national senior football team arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, yesterday evening, where they were warmly welcomed by the organizing committee of the Gulf Cup. The team is preparing for Gulf Cup 27, which kicks off on the 23rd of this month. The Blue Falcons will open their campaign against host Saudi Arabia on opening day in Group A, which also includes Iraq and Oman.

The national team will hold its first training session in Jeddah at the King Abdullah International Stadium’s auxiliary pitch during the evening, as scheduled by the competitions committee of the Gulf Football Union.

Players from Al-Kuwait Club will join today’s training after completing their match against Al-Wehda of the UAE in Abu Dhabi yesterday in the first round of the AFC Champions League Two. Portuguese coach Hélio Sousa will decide which of the “White” players will participate in tomorrow’s friendly against Yemen, which will serve as a final rehearsal before entering the tournament.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Football Association President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef met yesterday in Doha with Qatar’s Minister of Sports and Youth, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, who is also President of the Qatari Football Association and the Gulf Football Union.

During the meeting, Al-Yousef and Hamad bin Khalifa discussed the latest developments in Gulf and international football.

The association president also met with the administrative and technical staff and the Blue Falcons players at their camp, which concluded yesterday in Doha.
