Pakistani Prime Minister Strongly Condemns the "Despicable Attempt to Target the Sacred Site in Mecca"

Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the drone attack attempt targeting Mecca, affirming Islamabad’s steadfast support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a statement posted on his official account on the X platform, Sharif said: “I condemn in the strongest possible terms the vile and despicable attempt to target the holy site in Mecca with a drone attack.”

He emphasized that “the Pakistani people are saddened and concerned by this outrageous act. No words are sufficient to express the depth of pain and sorrow we feel over this unforgivable, despicable act.”

Sharif praised the exceptional vigilance, courage, and high professionalism of the Saudi Royal Armed Forces for their swift and heroic response.

He reiterated his call “for all parties to exercise the utmost restraint and avoid further escalation. Our region has already suffered far too much from conflicts,” stressing that “dialogue and diplomacy remain the only sustainable path to peace.”

He affirmed that Pakistan stands firmly, shoulder to shoulder, alongside the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the security and sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques, a trust cherished by every Pakistani close to his heart.

In a separate development, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the drone attack attempt on Mecca by the Houthi militia.

Dar stated that this “provocative” act constitutes a violation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and threatens regional peace and security.
