The Waqf Authority denies the authenticity of a circulating video regarding the closure of Al-Dua Mosque in Al-Fayrouz district, Al-Obour city, due to the call to prayer

Cairo – Hanaa El-Sayed: The Ministry of Endowments denied the authenticity of a circulating video on social media platforms claiming that the Du’a Mosque in the Al-Fayrouz neighborhood of Obour City was closed due to the call to prayer. The ministry clarified that the video’s claims are baseless, noting that the mosque had not been opened to the public in the first place and remains in the final stages of finishing works, with an opening expected in the coming weeks. The ministry emphasized that the call to prayer is not a reason for closing or delaying the opening of mosques, and that procedures for opening mosques are carried out in accordance with regulatory guidelines, after ensuring their readiness and confirming their suitability for receiving worshippers. The Ministry of Endowments called for accuracy before disseminating unverified clips or information, to avoid stirring confusion or presenting an inaccurate picture of the Egyptian state’s efforts to build and maintain houses of God.
