Translated by Qiyas from الأنباء — Original source

The Border Guard forces of the Syrian Arab Army thwarted two drug-smuggling operations yesterday, intercepting shipments of narcotics, crystal methamphetamine, and hashish coming from Lebanon. The operations took place in the Tal Kalakh area of Homs countryside and in Ras al-Ma’arra in the Qalamoun region.

The “Al-Ikhbariya” channel reported that the two operations resulted in the arrest of one individual involved in the smuggling. The suspect, along with the seized items, will be referred to the competent authorities.

Last Saturday, the Anti-Drug Administration announced the foiling of an attempt to smuggle large quantities of narcotics in a specialized security operation in the Nabk area of Damascus countryside.

Through its official social media accounts, the Anti-Drug Administration stated that the operation led to the seizure of 206,000 Captagon pills, the confiscation of weapons and explosives, and the arrest of two individuals involved.

The administration noted that the two detainees, along with the seized materials, will be referred to the competent judiciary to take legal action against them.

Earlier, the Media and Communications Directorate of the Ministry of Defense announced that since the beginning of September, the Border Guard forces of the Syrian Arab Army have intercepted quantities of narcotics during various operations along the Syrian-Lebanese border. These seizures included approximately 32 kilograms of hashish, in addition to a shipment of approximately 194,000 Captagon pills. Several smugglers were also detained during these operations.
