UAE President Discusses with Syrian Counterpart Ways to Enhance Bilateral Relations and Regional Developments

UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met yesterday with his Syrian counterpart, Ahmed al-Sharaa, to discuss bilateral relations, various aspects of cooperation, and ways to enhance them, particularly in developmental and economic fields, as well as a number of regional and international issues and developments.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the meeting took place during a visit by President al-Sharaa to the UAE, where he participated in the events of the 24th Arab Media Summit 2026, held in Dubai.

The agency added that both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing UAE-Syria relations to help realize the aspirations of both countries for development and to build a more progressive and prosperous future for their peoples.

The two sides also highlighted the importance of the recent visit by the UAE economic delegation to Syria in strengthening cooperation, establishing frameworks that support economic recovery, and contributing to the development of strategic projects through sustainable development partnerships that serve the development priorities of both countries.

The meeting also addressed the Arab Media Summit and the importance of the topics on its agenda. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed his gratitude to the Syrian President for accepting the invitation to participate in the summit.

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues and developments, foremost among them the developments in the Middle East and their impact on the region’s security and stability. They emphasized the importance of working to establish the foundations of regional and international security and stability in a manner that serves the interests and development of peoples.
