Waleed Al-Naif Named "Media Personality of the Year" at the Arab Media Summit in Dubai

Waleed Al-Naif, Editor-in-Chief of the sister publication Al-Qabas, won the “Media Personality of the Year” award as part of the Arab Media Awards during the Arab Media Summit 2026 held in Dubai.
In a statement to KUNA following his win, Al-Naif expressed his delight at the honor, describing it as the fruit of the collective efforts and work of the Al-Qabas team. He emphasized that the achievement is the result of the cooperation and dedication of all the newspaper’s staff and their commitment to continuing its media journey.
Al-Naif dedicated this victory to the State of Kuwait and to the local Kuwaiti press in all its institutions, affirming that any achievement by Kuwaiti media is an achievement for Kuwait, reflecting its long-standing journalistic and media heritage and its distinguished presence on the Arab stage.
The recognition of Al-Naif took place during the Arab Media Awards ceremony, held as part of the summit hosted by Dubai at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 15 to 17 September this month.
The “Media Personality of the Year” award is one of the categories of the Arab Media Awards, granted by the decision of the award’s board of directors in recognition of prominent media figures. This year, the award marks its 25th anniversary since its inception.
The Arab Media Summit 2026 is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
