The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strong condemnation and outrage over the terrorist attacks carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia yesterday, Monday, using ballistic missiles and drones against the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This continues their pattern of targeting civilians and civilian objects, resulting in injuries to several civilians and material damage to residential homes and vehicles.

Bahrain considered this a blatant violation of the rules of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and relevant Security Council resolutions.

It affirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all necessary measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect its citizens and residents, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. It emphasized that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia are an integral part of Bahrain’s national security, and expressed wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.

In its statement, the Foreign Ministry stressed Bahrain’s call for the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and take a firm stance to halt the repeated terrorist attacks by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia, hold the perpetrators accountable, and implement its relevant resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216 (2015), and Resolution 2817 (2026), which calls for an end to support for proxy groups, thereby contributing to the preservation of regional security and stability and the protection of civilians and civilian objects.
