Algeria's "Thread of the Soul" Wins Best at "Hurghada 4"

The fourth edition of the Hurghada Youth Cinema Festival concluded the day before yesterday with the announcement of the awards for its various competitions. The jury for the feature film competition awarded the Golden Prize for Best Film to the Algerian movie “Khit al-Ruh” (Thread of the Soul), directed by Youcef Mahsas. The awards ceremony also honored several members of the participating film crews: Artem Mikhalkov received the Best Director award for the Russian film “Rowing for Gold,” while the Best Actor award went to Gleb Kaluyzhny for his role in the same film. Lydia Shabout won the Best Actress award for her performance in the Algerian film “Khit al-Ruh,” and the Best Screenplay award was given to Laura Barile and Pilar Vazquez for the Brazilian film “I Can’t Remember the Name.”

The jury for the feature film competition was chaired by British writer, actor, and director Professor Lloyd Peters. It included Director Dr. Magdy Ahmed Ali, actress Abeer Sabry, Dr. Nabil Al-Filakawi from Kuwait, and Uzbek director Said Tulyaganov.
