Acting Director General of KUNA Meets with British Ambassador to Discuss Enhancing Media Cooperation

Mohammed Al-Munaie, the Acting Director General of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), held talks with Qadasi Rashid, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Kuwait, to explore ways to enhance bilateral media cooperation and exchange expertise in service of shared interests.

During his reception of Ambassador Rashid on Monday, Al-Munaie underscored the deep historical ties between Kuwait and the United Kingdom, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation between the media institutions of the two friendly countries to expand areas of coordination and exchange of information and professional expertise.

He stated that KUNA is keen on developing its partnerships with international media institutions and benefiting from British experiences and expertise across various media fields, in addition to highlighting Kuwait’s affairs, its renaissance, achievements, rich history, and its humanitarian role worldwide in British media outlets.

For his part, Ambassador Rashid affirmed his country’s commitment to enhancing media cooperation with Kuwait, pointing out the important role of media in documenting the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries and showcasing the continuous development they are witnessing in various fields.

He expressed his interest in closely engaging with Kuwaiti culture and its uniqueness, voicing his admiration for its authenticity, richness, and diversity, as well as the entrenched values it reflects in Kuwaiti society. He noted that understanding local culture is a crucial aspect of fostering communication and closeness between the peoples of the two friendly nations.

He remarked that Kuwaiti-British relations are rooted in a long history of cooperation and partnership, and expressed his aspiration to continue working on developing cooperation between the media institutions of the two countries and exchanging expertise to enhance communication and understanding between their peoples.

Attending the meeting were Essam Al-Ghanim, Deputy Director General of the Editorial Sector at KUNA; Badr Al-Sharhan, Acting Editor-in-Chief; Essam Al-Rouaih, Director of Marketing and Public Relations; and Maima Al-Farsi, Director of the Director General’s Office.
