Al-Jalahma: Enhancing Kuwait's status as a leading destination for hosting global sports, cultural, and youth events, and boosting its regional and international presence

The Public Authority for Youth and Sports launched the “Kuwait Youth and Sports Season” project on Sunday, aiming to organize and develop youth and sports activities in the country, alongside announcing the new visual identity following the merger of the Youth Authority with the Sports Authority.

The launch took place during a special ceremony held at the Jaber Cultural Center, under the patronage of the Council of Ministers and in the presence of the Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, and the Governor of the Capital, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali.

In his speech, Dr. Al-Jalahma stated that the Authority launched the “Kuwait Youth and Sports Season” as a national initiative bringing together the public and private sectors, aimed at organizing and developing youth and sports activities in the State of Kuwait through a strategic partnership with Kuwait Finance House.

He added that the Authority grants an official accreditation system to entities and initiatives that effectively contribute to organizing sports, cultural, and youth events and activities.

He emphasized that the Season contributes to enhancing the State of Kuwait’s status as a primary destination for hosting global sports, cultural, and youth events, and boosting its presence at both the regional and international levels.

He clarified that the Season aims to attract participants and visitors from within and outside Kuwait, thereby supporting economic and tourism growth and offering a comprehensive experience that reflects Kuwait’s standing and organizational capabilities.

Dr. Al-Jalahma noted that the Season has a significant impact on stimulating the economy by activating several vital sectors, including hotels, transportation, telecommunications, and restaurants, due to increased attendance at events and activities.

He added that it creates new job opportunities and contributes to stimulating local and foreign investment through projects related to events and infrastructure, while also attracting sponsors and companies to invest in the sports and cultural sectors, thereby enhancing the long-term sustainability of events.
