"Al-Azraq" Defeats Lusail in "Training Maneuver"

Kuwaiti officials confirmed that the national first football team secured a 2-1 victory over Qatari club Al-Lail in a training match played the evening before yesterday at Aspire Academy, the headquarters of the “Blue” team’s training camp, which is currently being held in Doha in preparation for participation in the Arabian Gulf Cup (Gulf 27) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from October 23 to October 6.

Kuwait’s national team competes in Group 1 of Gulf 27, alongside the host nation Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Iraq. Group 2 includes the national teams of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Yemen.

The “Blue” team’s goals were scored by Youssef Majed and Khaled Al-Murshed. The match was played in two halves of 35 minutes each, under conditions of very high humidity. Portuguese coach Helio Sousa sought to involve all players to assess their performance and physical condition.

The technical staff also implemented several tactical patterns they intend to use officially during the Gulf Cup, as well as in Friday’s match against Yemen, which will be held in Jeddah. Notably, Kuwait’s squad will be completed with the arrival of eight Kuwaiti players who are scheduled to face UAE club Al-Ittihad Kalba tomorrow in the first round of the AFC Champions League Two.

A reassuring aspect within the national team’s ranks is the absence of serious injuries or muscle tears that would prevent players from participating in either training sessions or matches. The final assessment by the coach and medical staff will take place a few days before the tournament begins, specifically after the “White” team’s match against Al-Ittihad Kalba and the “Blue” team’s encounter with Yemen.
