Al-Shalhoub: The law regulating the use of aircraft and air sports is an important step to organize the practice of activities in the country within a legal framework

KUNA: Ahmed Al-Shalhoub, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Air Sports Club, praised the issuance of the law regulating the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), light sport aircraft, various air sports, and related activities, emphasizing that it represents a crucial step in organizing the practice of these activities in the country within a clear and safe legal framework.

In a statement to the media, Al-Shalhoub said that the issuance of the law was a long-awaited demand from air sports practitioners, amateurs, and club members. He commended the comprehensive legislative framework it contains, which specifies the conditions for registration, licensing, authorization, operation, obligations, prohibitions, and penalties for violations.

He praised the government support for air sports and the attention paid by the Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, to youth development, capacity building, and fostering their hobbies in aviation fields. He stressed that regulating these sports contributes to providing a safe environment for their practice, while simultaneously ensuring the safety of air navigation, security aspects, and public order.

Al-Shalhoub expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, the Ministries of Interior and Defense, and relevant government authorities in regulating aviation activities. He reaffirmed the club’s and its members’ commitment to all conditions, controls, and executive regulations governing these sports.
