"Integrity": Uniting Gulf Efforts to Prevent and Combat Corruption
The State of Kuwait, represented by Dr. Majad Al-Daihani, Vice Chairman of the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha), participated in the Eleventh Meeting of the Deputies Committee on Combating Corruption of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held via video conferencing technology.
In his address, the Vice Chairman commended the Gulf efforts to strengthen the integrity framework and combat corruption, noting the growing international demands to entrench integrity values and enhance supervisory frameworks. He highlighted Nazaha’s commitment to cooperating with sister GCC countries and its key initiatives within the framework of the Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption.
The meeting addressed several projects aimed at unifying Gulf efforts to prevent and combat corruption, including the establishment of a “Working Mechanism for the Experts Committee on Combating Corruption in GCC Countries.” This project, proposed by Kuwait, seeks to govern and regulate the work of the Experts Committee, thereby enhancing coordination among member states and unifying their perspectives and positions in relevant regional and international forums, in line with the aspirations of the heads of anti-corruption authorities in the GCC countries.
The meeting also discussed the GCC Countries’ Competition for Research and Studies in the fields of integrity protection and anti-corruption for 2026, titled “Combating Corruption through Non-Judicial Means: Theoretical Approaches and Practical Experiences,” as well as the review of research evaluation results submitted by reviewers appointed from GCC countries. Additionally, the meeting discussed organizing a workshop titled “Mechanisms for Enhancing Integrity and Compliance in the Private Sector,” and reviewed recommendations from the Gulf Workshop titled “Combating Corruption and Identifying Beneficial Ownership in GCC Countries,” which was organized by Nazaha in coordination with the General Secretariat in July 2026.
Nazaha’s participation in this meeting reflects the State of Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening joint Gulf efforts in preventing and combating corruption, and its keenness to make an active contribution to safeguarding the values of integrity and transparency, thereby serving the societies of the GCC countries.
