"Al-Tamyeez" supports the acquittal of Khaled Al-Jarrah and others of causing damage of 124 million euros in the "Eurofighter" case
Kuwait officials: The Court of Cassation upheld the verdict of the Court of Ministers acquitting former Defense Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah and others of charges related to causing damage to the assets of the Ministry of Defense amounting to 124 million euros, in connection with a training contract for Eurofighter pilots.
The case concerns a memorandum of understanding signed with the Italian government, which included training services for pilots and ground crews, prior to the signing of a purchase contract for Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft with an Italian company. The prosecution accused the defendants of including duplicate training services in the contract, thereby imposing financial obligations on the state and causing damage to the Ministry of Defense’s assets.
The charges also included failing to obtain approval from regulatory authorities for the memorandum of understanding, and concealing data and information related to it from government entities.
