Mohammed Mohsen: Kuwaiti audience discerns the sincerity of the voice, the value of the word, and the melody

Egyptian singer and composer Mohamed Mohsen is preparing to meet his Kuwaiti audience for the first time at the concert “Al-Mughni Hayat Al-Ruh” (The Singer Is the Life of the Soul), scheduled for the evening of the 24th at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ali Concert Hall in the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, with a musical orchestra led by maestro George Qalta.

Mohsen expressed his joy at this participation, saying, “It is an honor and a pleasure for me to stand for the first time before the Kuwaiti audience on the stage of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ali Concert Hall at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre. Kuwait’s audience is discerning; they distinguish vocal sincerity and understand the value of lyrics and melody. Therefore, I do not see this encounter as a fleeting evening, but rather as a meeting with a sensibility that recognizes that music and art give life to the soul.”

He clarified that his relationship with Arabic song stems from his belief that it is “not merely an archive to be revisited, but a living heritage that flows through the consciousness, preserving from our identity what time cannot erase, and deserving to remain close to all generations.” He noted that the evening will present this heritage with a spirit that blends authenticity and contemporaneity.

He added, “We will take the audience on a musical journey starting with the compositions of Sayed Darwish, passing through Zakariya Ahmed and Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and extending to my contemporary songs. We will also visit stations that have settled in memory and anchored in the heart.”

Mohsen continued, “I hope to sing with the audience, not in front of them. The most beautiful aspect of music is that it is not complete unless the artist opens his voice and heart to the people, and unless the people respond with their hearts before their throats.”

He concluded, “I am greatly pleased that my first encounter with the Kuwaiti audience takes place in a cultural venue of such stature and significance. I promise you that I will be sincere with the heritage, loyal to its roots, and close to those who came to listen and be moved by their hearts, and to those who came to find something of their memory and soul in the song.”
