Al-Louzi: Retirement is just an idea... My circumstances are difficult

Artist Lucy sparked controversy after reports circulated attributing to her statements about considering retirement from the arts, coinciding with the scarcity of suitable artistic projects offered to her in recent times. In an interview with “Fushia,” she clarified that she has not made a final decision to retire and step away from the arts, emphasizing that the matter is merely serious contemplation of taking such a step, due to the nature of the projects currently being offered to her.

Lucy stated, “I was recently asked about new projects, and I replied that no valuable opportunities have been presented to me, and I am upset. Oh, I’m thinking about retiring. There is a difference between saying ‘I will retire’ and ‘I am considering retirement.’ Moreover, the person who published my remarks did not seek my permission to do so.”

She further affirmed that the projects currently being offered to her do not align with what she has delivered throughout her artistic career, explaining, “The things being offered to me are not suitable for me to work on, and the fees being offered are not acceptable. That’s the whole point.”

The artist Lucy revealed that there are artistic projects associated with her, but the execution of some of them faces difficulties due to financial circumstances.
