A delegation from the Ministry of Oil visited the headquarters of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), where it reviewed the operational mechanisms across the various departments of the editorial sector and their news services, particularly the Information and Research Center, “KUNA Smart Oasis,” and other editorial departments.

During the visit, the delegation received a detailed explanation from Acting Editor-in-Chief Badr Al-Sharhan and heads of the editorial departments regarding daily workflows, the stages of writing, editing, and broadcasting news materials in Arabic, English, and French through KUNA’s general bulletin and its social media platforms, as well as image processing, post drafting, and headline selection.

The delegation also closely examined the Information and Research Center at KUNA, learning about its role, scientific methodology, and professional approach to handling news and information. Center officials presented a comprehensive overview of archiving processes, as well as the collection, classification, and management of news materials and various media formats broadcast by the agency, alongside the preparation of reports, studies, periodicals, and research publications issued by the center.

The delegation further explored “KUNA Smart Oasis,” understanding its operational nature and the significance of its role in keeping pace with modern media concepts and utilizing artificial intelligence technologies in media content creation and delivery.

In this regard, Sheikh Tamadher Al-Khalid, Director of Public Relations and Petroleum Public Relations at the Ministry of Oil, stated that the visit to KUNA represented an important opportunity to closely observe the agency’s experience and professional expertise in media, editorial, and digital operations, and to learn about the modern mechanisms and technologies it employs in content creation and management. This reflects KUNA’s advanced national expertise and its firmly established position in the local media landscape.

Sheikh Tamadher noted that the visit provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and practical insights in several areas prioritized for media development, notably digital media, the use of artificial intelligence in content creation, news verification mechanisms, and professional handling of misinformation and rumors.

She emphasized that benefiting from successful national experiences constitutes an important pathway for developing petroleum media tools and enhancing their capabilities to keep pace with the rapid transformations in the media industry.

She clarified that the Ministry places utmost importance on strengthening cooperation ties and knowledge exchange with national media institutions, noting that the visit represents a significant step toward enhancing collaboration between the Ministry and KUNA, and leveraging mutual expertise and resources to improve media performance, increase the efficiency of specialized content production in the oil and gas sector, and enhance the ability to reach audiences professionally and reliably.

The delegation was received during the visit by Essam Al-Ruwaih, Director of Public Relations and Marketing.
