Attempt to smuggle over 200,000 Captagon pills thwarted; weapons and explosives seized in Al-Nabk

Syrian authorities announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle large quantities of drugs in a landmark security operation in the Al-Nabk area, south of Damascus. The Anti-Narcotics Administration, through its official social media accounts, stated that the operation resulted in the seizure of 206,000 Captagon pills, the confiscation of weapons and explosives, and the arrest of two suspects. The administration noted that the two detainees, along with the seized items, would be referred to the competent judiciary to take legal action against them.

Earlier, the Media and Communications Department of the Ministry of Defense announced that since the beginning of September, Syrian Arab Army border guard forces had intercepted various quantities of narcotics during separate operations along the Syrian-Lebanese border. These seizures included approximately 32 kilograms of cannabis, as well as a shipment of Captagon pills totaling around 194,000 pills. Several smugglers were also arrested during these operations.
