“Wai” and “Ooredoo Kuwait” Launch Strategic Partnership

Wio Bank, Kuwait’s first digital bank, has announced a strategic partnership with Ooredoo Kuwait, one of the country’s leading telecommunications and technology companies.

This partnership represents one of the largest collaborations between the digital financial services and telecommunications sectors in Kuwait. It was formalized at an official signing ceremony attended by senior executives from Wio Bank and Ooredoo Kuwait, alongside prominent figures, media personalities, content creators, and Wio Bank customers.

The partnership aims to deliver a comprehensive digital experience for Kuwaiti youth through a range of exclusive benefits and offers that integrate digital banking and telecommunications services, catering to the aspirations of the new generation and aligning with their fast-paced digital lifestyle.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wio Bank customers, particularly university students, will gain access to exclusive bank offers on various Ooredoo Shababi packages. Additionally, they will have access to an integrated digital store within the Wio app, offering the latest smart devices, including smartphones, tablets, and other tech products.

Student Reward customers will also receive cashback from Wio Bank of up to 30% on payments made to Ooredoo when using the SELECT card.

To mark the launch of this partnership, the cashback rate from Wio Bank will be doubled exclusively for one week. Wio Bank customers will also enjoy priority booking and pre-ordering privileges for the latest device releases, including the upcoming iPhone expected to launch this month.

This partnership reflects both parties’ shared vision of delivering innovative solutions that elevate the customer experience and provide tangible value beyond traditional offers, by integrating everyday digital services into a single, more convenient, and flexible ecosystem.

Commenting on the occasion, Amal Al-Duwaisan, Chairwoman of Wio Bank, said: “Our partnership with Ooredoo Kuwait represents a significant milestone in our journey toward delivering a more distinctive digital banking experience. It underscores our ongoing commitment to providing added value and exclusive benefits to our customers. Through this collaboration, we are expanding the ecosystem of digital services we offer to meet our customers’ daily needs and enhance their experience. We look forward to launching further initiatives and innovative solutions that support our vision and solidify Wio Bank’s position as the leading digital banking destination for youth in Kuwait.”

For her part, Nouf Al-Mashaan, Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer at Ooredoo Kuwait, stated: “Our strategic partnership with Wio Bank marks an important step in Ooredoo’s journey toward building a comprehensive network of high-quality partnerships that transcend traditional sector boundaries and open new horizons for innovation and value creation.”

This partnership holds particular significance as it brings together two vital sectors that directly impact individuals’ daily lives and lifestyles: telecommunications and banking.

This partnership stems from a shared vision to enhance services for youth and students by combining Ooredoo’s expertise in telecommunications and digital services with Weyay Bank’s leadership in digital banking, thereby opening broader avenues for innovation and developing a more integrated and seamless digital experience that delivers genuine value aligned with the aspirations and evolving needs of the new generation. This partnership embodies a joint commitment to building more integrated digital experiences by leveraging the potential of the telecommunications and banking sectors to provide more advanced and seamless solutions for youth in Kuwait, supporting their aspirations and keeping pace with their changing daily needs. In the coming phase, further joint initiatives and services between Weyay Bank and Ooredoo are expected to be developed, enhancing customer experience and expanding opportunities for innovation and integration between the two sectors.
