Electricity Authority: Extension of fiber optic cables in 33 areas

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy announced the commencement of works to lay fiber optic cables between existing main substations, as part of a developmental project under the State of Kuwait’s development plan. The initiative aims to upgrade infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of the communications and control systems.

The Ministry clarified that excavation and backfilling works will be carried out from today, September 13, until October 3, in several areas, as follows:

- Ahmadi: Plots 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, and 15.

- Abu Halifa: Plot 2.

- Ar Riqqa: Plots 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7.

- Al Uqaylah: Plots 1, 2, 3, and 4.

- Hadia: Plots 4 and 5.

- Ad Dasmah: Plots 1, 2, and 3.

- Al Fanitiss: Plots 2 and 3.

- Hawalli: Plots 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 9.

- Al Rawda: Plot 4.

- Al Jabriya: Plots 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12.

- Bayan: Plots 1, 4, and 5.

- Mubarak Al-Kabeer: Plots 5, 6, and 7.

- Salwa: Plots 2, 4, 5, and 6.

- Al Rumaythiyah: Plots 1 and 11.

- Salmiya: Plot 12.

- Al Shaab: Plot 3.

- Ad Dayaa: Plot 3.

- Kifan: Plots 1, 4, and 7.

- Al Khaldiya: Plots 1, 2, 3, and 4.

- Al Shamya: Plot 7.

- Abdullah Al-Salem City: Plot 4.

- Al Nozha: Plots 1, 2, and 3.

- Al Fahaheel: Plots 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9.

- Shuwaikh Residential: Plots 3 and 5.

- Al Yarmouk: Plots 1, 2, 3, and 4.

- Al Adiliya: Plots 2 and 3.

- Al Rai: Plot 1.

- Qahtan: Plot 10.

- Farwaniya: Plots 2, 5, and 6.

- Al Andalus: Plot 1.

- Al Aridya: Plots 1, 2, 3, and 6.

- Al Firdaws: Plots 1 and 4.

The Ministry emphasized that these works will not affect the continuity of electricity services, and expressed its gratitude to customers for their cooperation during the project implementation period.
