The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the targeting of the East-West pipeline: a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions of the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by several drones launched from Iraqi territory, which resulted in human casualties and material damage. This constitutes a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a breach of international law and international humanitarian law, and a threat to energy supply security.
In a statement, the Ministry affirmed that these attacks represent a serious escalation that could undermine regional security and stability. It stressed the importance of the Iraqi government taking necessary measures to ensure that its territory is not used as a launching point for such attacks, and to work towards halting them and preventing their recurrence.
The Ministry reiterated Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support alongside the Kingdom, and its backing of all measures undertaken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, preserve its security and stability, and protect its interests.
