Qualifies for the doubles final of the "Ghardaka Tennis" tournament

Kuwait’s national tennis star Eissa Qabazard added a new international achievement to his own record and to Kuwaiti tennis by reaching the doubles final of the second El Gouna International Professional Tournament, currently being held in the city of El Gouna in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He advanced to the final alongside his Indian partner, Pranav Karthik, after defeating the Ukrainian-Hungarian duo of Andrei Boritsky and Peter Szalai in the semifinals, 2-1 in sets.

In the final, Qabazard and Karthik will face the Italian pair of Gabriele Brancatelli and Lorenzo Lorusso.

Kuwait Tennis Federation President Abdul Rida Al-Gharib expressed his delight at Qabazard’s reach of the doubles final and the new international milestone added to Kuwaiti tennis’ achievements in professional international tournaments. He wished that Qabazard would win the doubles title, step onto the podium, and raise the Kuwaiti flag at this international sporting event, as he did last week.

It is worth noting that Kuwait national team player Mohammed Al-Awadi also reached the semifinals in the doubles event of the same tournament, partnering with Russian player Daniil Ovcharinco. The pair defeated the Italian-Russian duo of Cristian Campassi and Ivan Gritsky in the quarterfinals, 2-0 in sets, before losing to the Italian pair of Gabriele Brancatelli and Lorenzo Lorusso in the semifinals, 2-1 in sets.
