Electricity Authority: Extension of fiber optic cables in 33 areas
The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy announced the commencement of works to lay fiber optic cables between existing main substations, as part of a developmental project under the State of Kuwait’s development plan. The initiative aims to upgrade infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of the communications and control systems.
The Ministry clarified that excavation and backfilling activities will take place from tomorrow, September 13, until October 3, in several areas, as follows:
- Ahmadi: Blocks 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, and 15.
- Abu Halifa: Block 2.
- Ar Riqqa: Blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7.
- Al Uqayla: Blocks 1, 2, 3, and 4.
- Hadiyah: Blocks 4 and 5.
- Adh Dhahr: Blocks 1, 2, and 3.
- Al Fintas: Blocks 2 and 3.
- Hawalli: Blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 9.
- Al Rawda: Block 4.
- Al Jabriya: Blocks 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12.
- Bayan: Blocks 1, 4, and 5.
- Mubarak Al-Kabeer: Blocks 5, 6, and 7.
- Salwa: Blocks 2, 4, 5, and 6.
- Al Rumaythiya: Blocks 1 and 11.
- Al Salmiya: Block 12.
- Al Shaab: Block 3.
- Ad Daeiya: Block 3.
- Kifan: Blocks 1, 4, and 7.
- Al Khaldiya: Blocks 1, 2, 3, and 4.
- Al Shamya: Block 7.
- Abdullah Al-Salem City: Block 4.
- Al Nozha: Blocks 1, 2, and 3.
- Al Fahaheel: Blocks 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9.
- Shuwaikh Residential: Blocks 3 and 5.
- Yarmouk: Blocks 1, 2, 3, and 4.
- Al Adiliya: Blocks 2 and 3.
- Al Rai: Block 1.
- Jaleeb Al-Shuyoukh: Block 10.
- Farwaniya: Blocks 2, 5, and 6.
- Andalus: Block 1.
- Al Aridiya: Blocks 1, 2, 3, and 6.
- Al Firdaws: Blocks 1 and 4.
The Ministry emphasized that these works will not disrupt the continuity of electricity services, and expressed its gratitude to customers for their cooperation during the project implementation period.
