Saudi Arabia condemns drone attacks on the East-West pipeline originating from Iraq

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s strongest condemnation of the targeting of the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions by several drones originating from Iraq, which resulted in human casualties and some damage currently being addressed. In a statement, the ministry said: “The Kingdom clarifies that, at the request of the Iraqi Prime Minister, allowing the Iraqi government the opportunity to take measures sufficient to prevent attacks launched from Iraqi territory against the Kingdom and neighboring countries, the Kingdom has chosen not to respond at this stage and to support the efforts of the Iraqi government.” The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed that it reserves the right to take all measures necessary to protect its sovereignty, security, facilities, citizens, and residents.
