Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities launches new electronic payment system (CPS) for companies to purchase bundled tickets for visiting archaeological sites and museums

In line with the state’s direction toward expanding the application of the non-cash payment system, and in implementation of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ digital transformation strategy, and its commitment to developing services provided to tourism companies by adopting advanced technological solutions, the Ministry has launched the new Electronic Corporates Payment System (CPS) to computerize payment and collection services related to the purchase of combined tickets for archaeological sites and museums by licensed tourism companies.
This step comes within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the ticket booking and purchasing system for visiting archaeological sites and museums, enhance operational efficiency, simplify procedures, and improve the quality of services provided, thereby positively impacting the experience of tourists and visitors and aligning with international best practices.
The CPS system allows licensed tourism companies to purchase combined tickets for visiting archaeological sites and museums and pay for them electronically, either through direct bank transfers or by using bank cards, via a secure electronic system available 24/7 from anywhere, ensuring speed and ease of transaction processing.
The new system also contributes to reducing reliance on cash transactions, simplifying booking and payment procedures, and reinforcing principles of transparency and governance, in addition to reducing congestion at ticket outlets at archaeological sites and museums.
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, emphasized that digital transformation represents one of the main pillars of the Ministry’s strategy to develop the tourism and antiquities work system, noting that the launch of the CPS system comes as part of practical steps aimed at leveraging technology to enhance service efficiency and facilitate procedures for the tourism sector.
He added that the new system provides tourism companies with a more flexible and faster mechanism to manage the purchase and payment of combined tickets, saving time and effort and enhancing operational efficiency. He stressed that the Ministry, when developing its digital services, is keen to listen to the needs of the tourism sector, identify the challenges it faces, and work on providing practical solutions to them.
For his part, Dr. Hisham El-Lethy, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, confirmed that the launch of the system comes within the framework of the Council’s plan to develop and computerize the service system at archaeological sites and museums, particularly the ticketing system, which contributes to improving visitor flow management and enhancing the quality of services provided to visitors and tourism companies.
Dr. Mohamed Shaaban, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Digital Services, clarified that the CPS system was designed according to the latest user experience standards, by reducing booking and purchasing steps and providing a simplified and easy-to-use interface, in addition to applying advanced cybersecurity standards to protect financial transactions and ensure their reliability.
