Boursali: Pivotal role of the Atomic Energy Authority in supporting international efforts to strengthen the nuclear non-proliferation regime

Our Ambassador to the Republic of Austria, Fawaz Al-Bursali, presented his credentials as Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) during a ceremony held at the Agency’s headquarters in Vienna, the Austrian capital.
In a press statement on Friday, the Kuwaiti Embassy in Austria reported that Ambassador Al-Bursali, during his meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, underscored the pivotal role played by the Agency in supporting international efforts to strengthen the nuclear non-proliferation regime and consolidate nuclear security and safety, as well as in promoting the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
According to the statement, Ambassador Al-Bursali expressed Kuwait’s commitment to continuing its support for the Agency’s work and efforts across various fields related to its mandate, contributing to the achievement of its objectives and enhancing international cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
He also reaffirmed Kuwait’s eagerness to benefit from the technical programs and initiatives offered by the IAEA, thereby supporting member states’ efforts to develop their capacities and leverage peaceful nuclear applications in various developmental sectors.
The meeting addressed areas of cooperation between Kuwait and the IAEA, as well as ways to further develop and strengthen such cooperation in the interest of shared objectives, alongside the importance of continuing coordination and collaboration on issues and matters falling within the Agency’s competence.
