Massive Israeli explosion in southern Lebanon triggers seismic tremors equivalent to a 4.2 magnitude earthquake

The National Center of Geophysics in Lebanon announced on Thursday that seismic waves had been recorded across all its stations, resulting from a massive explosion carried out by Israeli occupation forces in the south. In a statement, the center said that the seismic waves recorded due to the explosion conducted by Israeli occupation forces in the area of Ali al-Tahir could be likened to an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale.

Regarding developments on the ground, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli military aircraft launched a series of airstrikes targeting the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa in two waves, followed by two successive strikes on the town of Mansouri and its surroundings near the town of Majdal Zoun, south of the city of Sidon.

The National News Agency noted that Israeli air strikes also hit the vicinity of the town of Al-Qantara and Wadi Zibqin, in addition to targeting a house in the area of Al-Arish at the outskirts of the towns of Haris and Haddatha, using missiles that led to its complete destruction. This occurred simultaneously with a massive explosion that shook the area east of the town of Khiam in the south of the country.

Earlier, the Lebanese National News Agency had indicated that Israeli occupation forces were deliberately employing new methods to demolish houses and residential neighborhoods without approaching them directly, by deploying drones to drop barrels containing highly explosive materials onto rooftops before detonating them.
