The National Assembly.. and Creative Publications

The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters continues to receive applications for support of creative publications, as part of its efforts to support Kuwaiti creatives, encourage their literary output, and strengthen the presence of local publications in the cultural landscape.

The support covers works in the fields of poetry, novels, short stories, and drama. Applicants must hold Kuwaiti nationality, and the submitted work must demonstrate originality, seriousness, and artistic quality, and be written in standard Arabic.

To complete the support procedures, applicants must submit the final proof of the work to the Council for review prior to printing, along with placing the National Council’s logo on the book’s inner cover, with a note indicating that the publication was printed with the Council’s support, in accordance with approved technical guidelines.

The Council receives 50 free copies of each work approved for support. The program does not cover works previously rejected by the competent committee, nor those whose authors have already received an artistic leave grant from the Council.

Furthermore, regulations prohibit works that have received approval for printing support from participating in the State Award for Creativity or from applying for support from the Committee for Encouraging Local Publications.

Applications will continue to be accepted until December 31, 2026, in a move aimed at providing Kuwaiti creatives with opportunities to publish their works and enhance the literary writing and publishing sector, thereby contributing to bringing local output to readers.
