Presidents of the UAE and Germany Discuss Advancing Comprehensive and Permanent Middle East Peace as a Means to Enhance Regional Security and Stability

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed various avenues of cooperation and ways to develop them across all fields, particularly economic and developmental areas that serve the mutual interests of the two countries and contribute to strengthening the strategic partnership between the UAE and Germany. This took place during a meeting between His Highness and the German President at the historic Villa Borsig, as part of the UAE President’s state visit to Germany.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the two sides reviewed the most prominent regional and international issues and current developments, foremost among them the efforts to advance the path toward a comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East region, as it is the means to enhance regional security and stability.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stated that the UAE and Germany share historical ties of cooperation and friendship dating back to before the establishment of the state, noting that these relations have passed through key milestones over more than five decades, culminating in the strategic partnership between the two countries, under a shared vision to continue enhancing their cooperation in a manner that serves mutual interests and brings prosperity and development to both peoples.
In this context, he praised President Steinmeier’s role in developing relations between the two countries, and commended the role of the German community in the UAE, which has contributed to building bridges of communication and rapprochement between the societies of both countries, as well as the importance of the role of German companies in strengthening economic ties.
