A delegation of students from the Applied College visits China to learn from its educational, technological, and innovative experiences

Abdullah Al-Rakan: The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) announced that a delegation of outstanding students from its College of Technological Studies would visit China to observe the experiences of several Chinese universities and educational institutions in the cities of Shenzhen and Shanghai, as well as leading companies and factories in the fields of technology, industry, and innovation.
Dr. Hassan Al-Fajam, Director General of PAAET, stated in a press statement that the delegation comprises 10 students and will travel to China on a visit that is the fruit of cooperation between the Authority and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kuwait. He emphasized that the trip aligns with the Authority’s commitment to broadening students’ horizons and linking applied education and training with advanced global practices and experiences.
Al-Fajam added that cooperation with the Chinese Embassy exemplifies the international partnerships the Authority seeks to foster, aiming to make students the primary beneficiaries of such collaborations. The visit will further enhance students’ access to international expertise, offering them the opportunity to closely observe the latest technological and industrial applications.
He clarified that the visit program includes field tours at several major technological and industrial companies, including Huawei, Robotics, and BYD. This will allow students to transition from theoretical knowledge in classrooms to observing practical applications in advanced industrial and technological environments, and to learn about the latest technologies in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, robotics, automation, smart manufacturing, electric vehicles, energy, and modern technologies.
He noted that this initiative would help students connect their academic studies with real-world applications in the industry and technology sectors. “We want PAAET students not to be content with what they learn within the classroom, but to see the world, explore pioneering experiences, and return to Kuwait with new ideas and aspirations,” he said.
For his part, Liu Xiang, Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, emphasized the importance of educational and technological cooperation in strengthening ties between the two friendly countries. He pointed out that investing in youth and building bridges of communication between educational and industrial institutions represent key pathways for sustainable cooperation.
In a similar statement, Xiang said that allowing PAAET students to closely observe the Chinese experience, particularly in universities, companies, and factories, would provide them with a comprehensive picture of China’s progress in technology, innovation, and industry. He expressed hope that the visit would help build new bridges of knowledge and understanding between the youth of both countries, and serve as the beginning of further exchange and cooperation programs between educational and technological institutions in China and Kuwait.
The visit is distinguished by its integration of academic, industrial, and technological aspects, enabling students to gain a holistic view of the innovation ecosystem, from education, training, research, and development, to manufacturing and the transformation of ideas into products and technologies that compete in global markets.
The visit to Huawei offers insights into technology, telecommunications, and digital transformation environments, while the visit to BYD provides an opportunity to observe developments in the electric vehicle industry and energy technologies. Additionally, the visit to Robotics allows students to explore applications of robotics, automation, and modern manufacturing.
This initiative comes within the Authority’s broader strategy to enhance its international partnerships and transform international relations and agreements into tangible educational and training opportunities that directly benefit students. This approach aims to develop their scientific and professional skills, strengthen a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among them, and equip them with a deeper understanding of the transformations occurring in the global labor market.
