Coordination with the US and Iraq to safeguard regional security

Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif stressed the importance of continuing consultation and coordination with the Iraqi and American sides, and enhancing security and defense cooperation to address common challenges amid regional developments, in a manner that serves shared interests and contributes to preserving the region’s security and stability.

This came during a meeting he chaired at Bayan Palace with delegations from the sister Republic of Iraq and the friendly United States of America, attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber, Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahab, representatives of the Ministry of Defense, and a number of diplomatic, security, and military leaders.

A press statement issued by the Ministry of Interior noted that the meeting reviewed areas of joint cooperation and ways to strengthen them, discussed several issues of mutual interest, and exchanged views on regional situations and current developments.

It clarified that the meeting also addressed a number of security and defense files of mutual interest and the existing coordination among participating parties, which enhances integration and knowledge exchange and supports efforts to consolidate security and stability in the region.
