Al-Qadisiya resumes training on Sunday.. Al-Awadi joins Al-Salmiya

The technical staff of Al-Qadsiya’s first football team, led by national coach Mohammed Ibrahim, have decided to resume daily training sessions at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium starting next Sunday. This follows a rest period for the players after their match against Al-Nassr last Friday, which was part of the third round of the Zain Premier League. The match ended in a convincing 3-0 victory for Al-Qadsiya (the Yellows), propelling them from eighth place to third, just one point behind leaders Kazma.

The administrative and technical management also decided not to hold an external training camp during the league’s break, which will resume on October 9. This decision was made because most of the squad members are currently with the senior national team, participating in Gulf Cup 27 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the Olympic team, which is taking part in the Asian Games starting on the 19th of this month.

During the break, Al-Qadsiya will play three to four friendly matches to keep both local and foreign players match-fit, both technically and physically. The hiatus lasts 40 days, so the team needs to intensify its training and matches to reach peak readiness when the league resumes, as well as for their participation in the AFC Challenge League. Al-Qadsiya will host Group 3 of the tournament, which will be held in a centralized format from October 17 to 23. The group includes Indian side Goa, Bangladeshi side Fortis, and Tajik side Regar-TadAZ.

Meanwhile, Al-Salmiya (Al-Sulaibikhat) announced the loan signing of Al-Qadsiya and national team striker Abdullah Al-Awadi for one season. Al-Awadi posted on his personal X account: “A new chapter in my career. I am happy to join Al-Salmiya on loan for one season and take on a new challenge that I believe is suitable for this stage. Thank you for your trust, and my gratitude goes to Al-Qadsiya and its loyal fans for their love and support. I am excited to start this experience and give everything I have to achieve the team’s ambitions.”

Al-Salmiya is expected to announce its final signing in the coming days, which will be a fifth foreign player joining the defensive line.
