Chinese Passenger Car Exceed Total 2025

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said on Thursday that passenger car exports in the first eight months of this year had already surpassed the total exports of last year, despite continued declines in domestic sales. The association noted that passenger car exports in August rose by 67.1% compared to the same period last year, reaching 890,000 vehicles, driven by a recovery in sales of hybrid and electric cars. China exported more than 6.2 million passenger cars, while total auto exports of all types reached 7.1 million units last year, including about 6 million passenger cars, according to The Associated Press. S&P Global Ratings stated that China, the world’s largest car exporter, is on track to achieve growth of between 50% and 70% in passenger car exports for the full year. Domestically, passenger car sales fell by 25.6% year-on-year to less than 1.5 million vehicles.
