"Destination": When the Impact Becomes More Important Than Fame

In an era where rapid fame and social media follower counts have become benchmarks of success for some, coach Mohammed Fahad Al-Kandari offers a different perspective through his cultural talk show “Wajha” (Perspective), launched under the slogan “Meaning matters more than noise.”

The program emphasizes the importance of choosing positive role models and highlights individuals who have made genuine, tangible contributions to humanity and their homelands in the fields of culture, literature, education, and humanitarian work, steering clear of superficial fame and fleeting content.

“Wajha” takes its viewers on a journey through the biographies of figures who left an indelible mark on the Arab and Islamic worlds, pausing at key milestones in their lives—from challenges and setbacks to decisions and transformations that shaped their successes. It also explores, in each case, the pivotal idea or moment that altered the trajectory of the individual’s life, and the lessons that can be drawn from these experiences today.

Among the prominent figures featured are the late poet Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain, with a focus on his contributions to the Arabic language, culture, and education; the late physician and preacher Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sumait, highlighting his humanitarian journey across the African continent; and the late Dr. Ghazi Al-Qusaybi, with emphasis on his administrative, diplomatic, and literary legacy, and how he successfully combined intellect with leadership. The program also features Sheikh Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, whose life exemplifies self-made success in the world of finance, alongside other figures who made a real difference in their societies, including Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud, Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Sha’rawi, Dr. Ahmed Zewail, and the world-renowned boxer Muhammad Ali, among others.
