In Video: Interior Ministry orders removal of a jakhur tree used in the production of local alcohol

The Ministry of Interior directed the Kuwait Municipality to dismantle a shack that was being used for the production and sale of locally brewed alcohol. In a statement, the ministry said that the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration of Criminal Investigations, acted on information indicating that a shack in a remote area on the Abdali Road was being used to produce alcohol. A raid was conducted, resulting in the arrest of three Indian nationals engaged in brewing alcohol, and a fourth individual who arrived at the shack to purchase a quantity of alcohol intended for distribution. The ministry added that the search yielded 236 plastic bottles filled with alcohol and prepared for sale, several barrels, and materials used in the brewing process, along with a sum of money. It noted that the suspects admitted to using the shack as a site for producing, storing, and selling the alcoholic beverages out of public view, while the fourth suspect admitted to purchasing the alcohol with the intent to traffic it. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects.
