UEFA Champions League: Haaland Leads Manchester City to Victory Over Porto with a Two-Goal Margin

English club Manchester City defeated Portuguese hosts Porto 2-0 in their match on Tuesday, in the first round of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.

The encounter saw Moroccan international Ayoub El Kaabi start for Manchester City for the first time, remaining on the pitch until the 76th minute before being substituted by the manager.

The English side waited until the start of the second half to open the scoring, as Norwegian striker Erling Haaland found the back of the Porto net in the 47th minute, before adding a second goal in the 91st minute to secure a 2-0 victory for Manchester City.

In other matches, Real Betis secured a 3-2 away win against their hosts, while Borussia Dortmund claimed a hard-fought 3-2 victory over visiting Villarreal in the opening round of the Champions League league phase.
