Saudi Council of Ministers: The Kingdom is proceeding with defending its sovereignty, safeguarding the security of citizens and residents, and preserving its national resources
Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman presided over the Council of Ministers meeting held on Tuesday in Jeddah. At the outset of the session, the Crown Prince briefed the ministers on the substance of his consultations and talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, focusing on aspects of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and those friendly and sister nations, as well as ways to support and strengthen these ties across all fronts.
Saudi Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari stated, in his press statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the meeting, that the Council, after reviewing recent developments and events in the region, affirmed that the Houthi terrorist militia had committed a heinous aggression against civilian and economic targets in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran. The militia continued its targeting of commercial ships in the Red Sea and international maritime navigation. The Council emphasized that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains committed to defending its sovereignty, protecting the security of citizens and residents, and safeguarding national assets, while firmly rejecting the hostile approach and criminal behavior perpetuated by this extremist militia in threatening the stability of the sister Republic of Yemen and its Arab and Islamic surroundings.
The Council directed providing the highest levels of medical care and attention to those injured in these terrorist attacks, praying to God Almighty for their swift recovery and for the continued security and stability of the Kingdom.
The Council expressed the Kingdom’s support for joint Arab efforts to halt Israeli violations and aggressions against the city of Jerusalem and occupied areas, and to counter blatant measures in Palestine, expansionist policies, settlement activities, and displacement operations that violate all international laws.
