National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) concluded its 2026 summer season with a wide range of training and development programs and initiatives, successfully reaching hundreds of youth and children from various age groups. This effort underscores the bank’s firm commitment to its social responsibility and its long-term vision aimed at supporting and developing national competencies, while empowering future generations with the knowledge and skills necessary to keep pace with future demands.

The programs implemented or sponsored by the bank during the summer season embodied its integrated approach to human capital investment. They covered diverse fields, including banking, financial literacy, social entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, practical training, and digital media, reflecting the bank’s dedication to providing high-quality educational and training opportunities that cater to the interests of young people and align with the rapid changes in the labor market.

The bank reached over 500 participants, including children and youth, through its various programs, in addition to participants in the Kuwait Times summer training program. This highlights the broad scope of the initiatives launched by the bank and its commitment to covering different age groups, from children to university students.

In this context, Manal Al-Mutairi, Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Group at NBK, stated: “At NBK, we believe that investing in youth is investing in Kuwait’s future. Therefore, we consistently strive to launch and sponsor programs and initiatives that contribute to building their capabilities, developing their skills, and enhancing their readiness for future demands. The significant diversity in our summer programs reflects our commitment to providing meaningful educational and training opportunities that meet the needs of different age groups and contribute to preparing a generation capable of innovation, creativity, and active contribution to societal and national economic development.”

Al-Mutairi added: “These programs fall under NBK’s corporate social responsibility strategy, which places education and human capital development at the forefront of its priorities. This is driven by our belief that empowering youth cognitively and professionally is one of the key pillars of sustainable development. We will continue to work on providing more developmental and educational opportunities that equip youth with practical experience and the necessary skills for success in their academic and professional lives.”

**“Aspire National”.. An Early Window into the Banking Sector**

The “Aspire National” program saw the participation of 66 students aged between 15 and 18, offering them the opportunity to get close-up exposure to the banking work environment and the mechanisms of the banking sector through a practical experience within various bank departments. The program contributed to enhancing participants’ professional knowledge, alongside developing their personal and practical skills, helping them form a clearer picture of modern work environments and the requirements for future professional success.

**“Little Bankers”.. An Educational Experience Strengthening Family Bonds**

In line with the bank’s interest in its employees and their families, NBK organized the “Little Bankers” program, which was participated in by 280 children of bank employees aged between 6 and 11. The program did not limit itself to instilling concepts of financial literacy and awareness among children through an interactive banking experience designed specifically for them; it also came as part of the bank’s efforts to enhance employee well-being and consolidate a positive work environment that reflects the bank’s culture, where employees are considered one family. This contributes to strengthening job loyalty and reinforcing family and institutional bonds.

Furthermore, the program helped develop participants’ communication, teamwork, and creative thinking skills through an educational and interactive approach suitable for their age.

**Supporting Young Media Talents**

In the field of nurturing initiative and innovation, NBK continued its strategic support for the “Kan” social entrepreneurship program, which saw the participation of 66 young men and women aged between 12 and 16. The program focused on helping participants develop ideas and initiatives that serve society and the environment, while enhancing concepts of social entrepreneurship, sustainability, and innovation, and developing their leadership skills to enable them to make a positive impact in their communities.

NBK’s efforts also extended to the media sector through the sponsorship of the Kuwait Times summer training program, which targeted university students from various majors. The program provided them with intensive practical training in journalism, content creation, photography, and digital media. It contributed to equipping participants with practical professional experience and introducing them to the requirements of modern media work, thereby enhancing their opportunities to develop their professional careers in the future.

**Sustainable Impact Beyond the Summer Season**

The success achieved by NBK’s summer programs and initiatives in 2026 underscores the bank’s leadership in supporting and developing youth, and reinforces its role as an active partner in building national capacities and preparing future generations. The bank continued its investment in future skills through the “National Strive” program, which targeted 15 university students. The program allowed them to explore the latest applications and tools of artificial intelligence and their practical uses in various work environments. The program contributed to developing innovative solutions and ideas that could be utilized to serve various bank departments, alongside enhancing digital skills and technical capabilities that have become essential elements in modern labor markets.

**“ALT”.. Early Practical Experiences**

By sponsoring the ALT program, NBK provided a comprehensive training experience that benefited 56 trainees aged between 10 and 15. The program offered participants the opportunity to engage in practical experiences within various entities and commercial activities, helping them develop skills in responsibility, self-reliance, and communication. It also enabled them to familiarize themselves with different work environments and gain early practical experiences that enhance their readiness for the future.
