Seizure of 4.19 million pills, 5,400 kg of "Larica" powder, and 96 kg of hashish, methamphetamine, and marijuana in July and August

Kuwait officials: A statistical report from the General Administration for Combating Narcotics, obtained by Al-Anbaa, revealed the scale of active operations during July and August, specifically from July 1 to August 31. The operations resulted in the seizure of approximately 96 kilograms of narcotics, comprising 52 kilograms, 677 grams, and 30 milligrams of hashish; 25 kilograms, 422 grams, and 5 liters of methamphetamine; 1 kilogram and 330 grams of heroin; 17 kilograms, 951 grams, and 100 milligrams of marijuana; 2 kilograms, 162 grams, and 127.135 grams of chemical substances; and 676 grams of cocaine, along with the confiscation of 248 bottles of alcohol.

The seizures also yielded 4,193,670 narcotic pills, alongside a large quantity of "Larica" powder amounting to 5 tons and 400 kilograms, according to the statistics.

The report indicated that 395 cases were referred to the Narcotics and Alcohol Prosecution, including 15 cases of possession, 72 of trafficking, 244 of consumption, 15 filed against unknown persons, 44 narcotics misdemeanors, and 5 alcohol misdemeanors.

According to the statistics, the number of defendants in narcotics cases reached 503, including 19 defendants in possession cases, 112 in trafficking cases, 315 in consumption cases, 50 in narcotics misdemeanors, and 7 in misdemeanor cases.

The statistics showed the deportation of 241 expatriates of various nationalities in connection with narcotics cases. Meanwhile, the General Administration for Combating Narcotics received 109 reports from families of users, comprising 89 males and 20 females.

In the context of seizing weapons linked to the cases, anti-narcotics officers confiscated four pistols, one MP5 weapon, two Kalashnikovs, one other weapon whose name was not specified in the report, and eight bullets.

A security source stated that the results of the work and efforts undertaken by the General Administration for Combating Narcotics, in conjunction with the implementation of the new Narcotics Law, led to no recorded deaths over the past two months.

The source emphasized that officers of the General Administration for Combating Narcotics are engaged in an open security battle characterized by zero tolerance and no retreat, facing criminal networks that have turned narcotics into a cross-border trade targeting society, its security, stability, youth, and the future of its generations.

He clarified that the efforts of the anti-narcotics officers are supported by the directives and supervision of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, who places the fight against narcotics at the forefront of security priorities, provides the necessary support and resources to the officers, and ensures the removal of obstacles to enable them to fulfill their duty in confronting drug traffickers and distributors.
