iPhone 15 and 450 dinars stolen from a young man and an expatriate with "security status" in Salwa and Farwaniya

Ahmad Khamis: Criminal investigation officers have launched probes into two separate armed robbery incidents in the Hawalli and Farwaniya governorates. The cases involve an Egyptian youth who was subjected to an attempted kidnapping and had his phone stolen, and an Indian worker who reported being robbed of 450 dinars by two individuals, one of whom claimed to be a security officer.

A security source told Al-Anbaa that an Egyptian youth, approximately 18 years old, reported being subjected to an attempted kidnapping, assault, and having his “iPhone 15” forcibly taken from him in a dirt square in the Salwa area.

The complainant accused a group of individuals, including two he was able to identify, of assaulting him, noting that others were present with them. He added that several of the suspects were carrying sharp instruments, specifically knives.

Upon reviewing the case, the Deputy Public Prosecutor ordered the registration of an armed robbery charge and directed criminal investigations to identify all participants and clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In Farwaniya governorate, an Indian worker reported being robbed by two individuals who stopped him. One of them claimed to be a security officer and asked him to present his identification documents. While one suspect searched him, the other kept watch over the area, and they forcibly took 450 dinars from him before fleeing in a vehicle whose license plate number the complainant could not identify.

The complainant confirmed that a colleague was present at the site and witnessed the incident, adding that he was preparing to travel the following day to treat his wife.

Upon reviewing the case, the Farwaniya Public Prosecution ordered the registration of an armed robbery charge and directed criminal investigations to identify and apprehend the suspects and ascertain the details of the incident.
