In Video: Interior Ministry: 21 tankers and a truck seized, used in stealing state-subsidized diesel and trafficking it

In accordance with directives from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the Ministry of Interior announced that 21 tankers and trucks seized in two separate cases were crushed. These vehicles were used to steal subsidized diesel fuel, collect it, transport it, and resell it, as part of efforts to combat these crimes and protect public funds.

The Ministry stated in a press release that the crushing operation included eight tankers and trucks in the first case and 13 in the second, following the registration of the cases and the completion of all legal procedures and public prosecution requirements related to the seized items.

It added that some tanker owners had rented them out on a commission basis, fully aware that they would be used for this illicit activity, thereby facilitating the collection, transportation, and trafficking of stolen diesel. The Ministry emphasized that this measure serves to deter anyone who uses machinery and equipment to commit crimes or makes them available to others while knowing they will be used for illegal activities, and to reinforce respect for the law, protect public funds, and safeguard state resources.
