"Beyond Giving" Conference Shifts Charitable Work from "How Much Have We Given?" to "What Has Our Giving Achieved?"

Dr. Khaled Al-Madhkur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Islah Social Association, affirmed that the patronage of Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailan, Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, and Social Security, for the “Beyond Giving” conference represents significant support for distinctive initiatives aimed at developing Kuwait’s charitable work ecosystem and enhancing its tools and practices. It also reflects the state’s interest in continuing to strengthen Kuwait’s standing and its pioneering role in humanitarian efforts.

Al-Madhkur stated that this patronage carries important implications, as it comes within the context of supporting efforts to transition charitable work from merely providing giving to maximizing its impact, and from responding immediately to needs to building more aware, precise, and sustainable decisions and projects. He emphasized that developing the charitable sector has become a shared responsibility requiring integrated efforts among government entities, charitable institutions, donors, and experts.

Al-Madhkur stressed that the next phase of charitable work requires a mindset that moves beyond the question “How much have we given?” to a more important one: “What has our giving achieved?” He noted that the value of a charitable project is not measured solely by the number of beneficiaries, but extends to its capacity to bring about real and sustainable change in the lives of individuals and society.
